FORT WORTH MUSEUM OF SCIENCE AND HISTORY

Legorreta + Legorreta just opened the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History in the city of Fort Worth, Texas, U.S.A., next to other museums designed by architects like Louis I. Khan, Tadao Ando and soon Renzo Piano, to mention some.

The opening took place during the whole week from the 16th to the 20th of November, with several events that invited the Fort Worth community to assist and be part of it. The lighting of the lantern, which is a key element in the museum’s architecture, was the 16th along with an outdoor event. The ribbon cutting was on the 20th where people like the mayor of Fort Worth and people from the arts and culture movement were present.

This museum has about 166,000 sq. ft. only in the renovated and new part that Legorreta + Legorreta designed and about 24,000 sq. ft. in the existing and remaining, gathering a total of about 200,000 sq. ft. The total occupancy of the museum is of 3,369 individuals.
