THE NEW HEADQUARTERS FOR BBVA BANCOMER IN MEXICO

On July 6th the team of Legorreta+Legorreta and Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners was pronounced winner to design the new headquarters for BBVA Bancomer in Mexico.
The building will be located on Paseo de la Reforma in Mexico City and is to be finished in 2012.
The BBVA tower of 183,000 Sq. Mt., 50 floors and 221 meters high is to be designed with the best standards in architecture, particularly in terms of energy efficiency and environmental protection, seeking with this a LEED Gold Certification. The façade will have a special design that joins both, high technology and solar protection for energy saving, inspired in traditional architecture, as well as a huge screen of leds with digital art that will provide the knowledge and diffusion of Mexican art to society.
